What Pinecompassx does, in plain language
Pinecompassx is a Nairobi-based platform that helps residents find, vet, and book local service providers, schedule appointments, and source everyday products from verified neighbourhood suppliers. We serve individuals and households across Nairobi's urban and peri-urban areas — from Westlands and Kilimani in the west to Eastlands and Embakasi in the east. Our coverage is deliberate and bounded: we operate only within Nairobi's metropolitan boundary, and we do not list businesses in other Kenyan counties. That focus allows us to maintain the ground-level oversight that defines how we work. Since launching in 2019, our team of twelve has verified over 340 providers across three service categories. Every provider on the platform has been assessed in person at least once; many have been re-assessed following resident feedback. We take that accountability seriously because our users make real decisions — hiring someone into their home, trusting a supplier with a weekly food order — based on what they read on Pinecompassx.

How our team works — and where we draw the line
Our field coordinators are Nairobi residents themselves — people who use public transport, know which roads flood in the long rains, and understand the texture of daily life in the neighbourhoods they oversee. Each coordinator is responsible for between 20 and 30 providers and carries out structured quarterly reviews that include resident interviews, site visits, and documentation checks. We do not rely on automated scraping or crowd-sourced submissions alone; every listing reflects a human decision. That said, we are candid about the limits of what we do. Pinecompassx is not an employer of any service provider — all tradespeople, appointment specialists, and product suppliers are independent businesses. We are a directory and booking intermediary, not a contractor. We do not guarantee outcomes beyond what is described in a provider's verified listing, and we do not cover the cost of work that falls outside the agreed scope. Our platform performs best when residents use it for planned, non-emergency needs. For urgent or emergency situations — a gas leak, a medical emergency, a security incident — please contact the relevant emergency service directly. We are proud of what Pinecompassx has built since 2019, and equally committed to being honest about where our role ends.
We are available Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30, and Saturday mornings until 13:00.
